…at Queensland Multicultural Centre, 102 Main St, Kangaroo Point, Brisbane on Thursday 8 May to Saturday 10 May 2025.
The evening performances are at 7.30 pm with an additional matinee on Saturday at 2 pm.

It is a witty play about the perils of match-making but there is some action too!
The performances run for about 2 hours with a 20 minute interval.

Eccentric Iris, the Chinese owner of the Happy Lucky Noodle Factory has lost everything at the casino. The fortune cookies told her to bet on “Spinning Wheel” which she interpreted as the roulette wheel – how is she supposed to know that “Spinning Wheel” was a horse? She hides the disaster from her daughter Cecily whom she proposes to marry off to Ken, son of a wealthy businessman, through a match-maker, Alf. Their meeting at the Love Café will be spectacular.

Despite 3 years at uni, Cecily’s studies have failed her romantically: “Introductory Metallurgy taught me the difference between being bronzed and being brassy and I’ve used Applied Probability Theory to bump into some one by chance, but where has it got me?”

Ken’s father Ian runs the Plumb Crazy Plumbers Store. It is also ostensibly successful but in financial ruin because of staff embezzlement. What else can go wrong? Who will get matched by the match-maker and start making “future memories”?

This will be a delightful evening or afternoon of fun for the whole family. A ticket could also be a thoughtful gift for a special mother on Mother’s Day 2025. Tiered seating in a modern theatre ensures a good view of the performance.
